Start Elevation: 6,210 ft (1,893 m) Maximum Elev Gain and Loss from Start Elev: 0 ft, (0 m) gain – 543 ft. (-165 m) loss
Trail Surface and Use: Two-track road
Trail Head Access: The trailhead is accessible from CO Hwy 90 via either the Old (DD19) or New (EE21) Monogram Truck .Road (approx. 8 miles (12.9 km) for the Old Road and 12 miles (19.3 km) for the New Road). Once the road reaches the top of Monogram Mesa, for the Old road turn SE until you turn right onto the Bull Canyon Rd, follow the road to the parking site. For the New Road, once on top stay with the road until you intersect the Dry Creek Basin Road, turn right and then turn left onto the Bull Canyon Road. A good quality map (BLM 1:100,000) will help sort out the details.
Trail Head Coordinates: 692,710E; 4,228,2 80N UTM WGS84 Zone12
Best Feature: A historic settlers’ cabin, a beautiful overlook into the Dolores River and its associated Wilderness Study Area.
Cautions: Short steep rocky road section just below the parking area. The road is occasionally used by 4WD and ATV enthusiasts.

Description: The road starts with a short, steep, rocky high-clearance 4WD section, then transitions to a standard abandoned 2-track with some rough spots. At about 3 miles (4.8 km) in, the historic Indian Henry’s cabin is encountered. Stay on the road for the remaining 7 miles (11.3 km) to arrive at the overlook. Rock alcoves can be seen enroute.
