Description: The ride begins high on the Uncompaghre Plateau and is best planned with a shuttle to the top and a vehicle left at Hwy 141 and County Road (CR) S17. The long, fast and rough descent through aspens and oak brush takes riders down the steep western flanks of the Plateau. At mile 2.9 take FS 617 as it continues down, eventually climbing around the upper portions of Little Johnson Creek before continuing the descent. At mile 7.7 FS 617 meets the Paradox Trail. Go right and follow the old two track up and over a rise, coming down into Bull Draw. There you will leave the Paradox Trail and begin heading down the drainage, eventually coming down the Atkinson Breaks into the creek bottom and CR S17. Note: The 2018 Bull Draw fire burned extensively through this section. Signage may not be present.
