Trail Running

The West End Trails Alliance is a group of outdoor users who promote non-motorized (i.e. human-powered) recreation in the West End of San Miguel and Montrose Counties, plus the southwestern portion of Mesa County. This use includes mountain biking, hiking, trail running, and more
(birding, archeological trips, general exploration).

Get to know our area – we have 90% of the beauty of the nearby mountains and deserts – with 10% of the people. Imagine, a bike or trail trip where you all you see is nature, not other people. WETA works under the umbrella of the non-profit Montrose West Recreation, which is located in Nucla, CO.

Have Fun – Have an Adventure – and Help Support our Efforts!

Your tax-deductible donation will help support trail advocacy, ethics and development in our area. This includes mapping new trails, signage, working with land owners and agencies for access, and a myriad of other things we do to promote non-motorized outdoor recreation for all. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

WETA thanks all the people who helped in this project, those that contributed funds, those that were paid and those that volunteered. This includes the sponsors shown on the home page; Chair 8 Design for the web design; trail mappers and describers- Paul Koski, John B. Stewart, Jerrod Fast, Kelvin Verity and Katie Sapp; other contributors – John Mansfield for Norwood-area resources, Coen Dexter and Brenda Wright for information on birding; and Tony Adkins as a trail mapper, contributor of various and sundry content, and as the Mapping Initiative Coordinator.
